Apcon is introducing the Hive 2, a new six-storey building with 156 units.

This follows the successful sell-out of the 84-unit, six-storey first phase. The project aims to provide more homeownership opportunities in a growing community.

Langley: A Growing Community

Langley offers hope for future homeowners with its expanse of undeveloped space. Much of B.C.’s Lower Mainland is landlocked and unaffordable. “Langley offers a great mix of housing at an affordable price,” said Tejvir Atwal, the managing director of Apcon Group, to RENX Homes. He also noted a demographic shift, with many residents moving up from the Tri-Cities.

In 2017, Apcon first surveyed the area. At that time, rows of agricultural acreages dominated the landscape. Today, housing projects have transformed Langley into a thriving suburban city. The neighbourhood now has more than 6,700 homes. In the past year alone, 965 new units came to market across six low-rise developments. Langley, with a current population of 150,000, expects to grow by another 50,000 residents by 2040.

Why Apcon Chose Willoughby for Hive 2

Willoughby town centre, the heart of Langley, brings life to the city. Residents can walk just 2 minutes from Hive 2 to access various amenities and services, including groceries, pharmacies, restaurants, and banks. “This location is perfect for families, with new schools being built that have good reputations,” Atwal noted. The township ensures ample amenities like schools and parks without overcrowding the area with houses. Willoughby addresses the housing crisis by providing enough homes while creating an ideal place for families and individuals to settle down.

The Hive: Made for Professionals and Young Families

Apcon Group developed Hive 2 with professionals and young families in mind. They priced their condominiums between $499,900 and $689,900 to attract first-time buyers. Initially, the 2.5-acre property was zoned for 54 condos and 32 townhouses. However, recognizing the need for more affordable options, Apcon rezoned the property to 240 units, adding additional density.

Langley’s Affordability

Metro Vancouver has the highest home prices in Canada. This forces homebuyers to relocate to find affordable housing. Langley is easily accessible to neighbouring cities via the highway. Thus, it offers an ideal solution for those wanting to remain in the Greater Vancouver Area. This is crucial given the persistent economic challenges, such as a high consumer price index and elevated interest rates.

Langley’s Township Supports Future Homeowners

Atwal mentioned that working with the township to explain its official community plan and streamline the development process showed their commitment to making Langley a key growth area in Metro Vancouver. With continued support from the Township of Langley, future projects will progress much faster.

Apcon Making Their Mark in Langley

For Apcon, The Hive is their first development project in Langley. However, it certainly won’t be their last. The company has already built a strong reputation in nearby Surrey. They are targeting occupancy for Hive 2 by May 2025.

Don’t miss this opportunity to own a 1, a 1 + flex, or a 2-bedroom condominium at the Hive, located in Willoughby, Langley’s growing community.
