Make a Difference For the Youth in Our Community this Holiday Season!

Fifth Ave’s ‘Bringing People Home’ initiative exists to build opportunity, develop community foundations and design meaningful solutions to improve the regions we live, work and play in.

Last year, Michelle and Jamie embarked on their first capital campaign for an affordable housing project build, dedicated to assisting women fleeing violence, refugees, seniors, at-risk youth and others facing barriers in finding decent, affordable homes.

To celebrate 50 years of creating focused, effective and responsive resources for the community, Options Community Service tasked 50 local “Women of Options” with raising $25,000 each to build and furnish the housing project. They were thrilled to partner with Options Community Service, one of the most respected not-for-profit organizations in the South Fraser Region.

With the holiday season right around the corner, Michelle and Jamie are pushing this initiative to help youth in need. Along with 48 impactful females, they are raising $1.5 million to develop a long-term discretionary fund to assist youth who need the kind of support that cannot be provided in a timely manner or at all by other agencies or the government. For the second consecutive year, both of them have each committed to raising $25,000 towards this long-term discretionary fund for Options Community Services. Still, they need your help to make their efforts go even further.

Surrey is home to the largest youth population in B.C. (those aged 12 to 27), many of whom require unique support that could include a need for clothing or dental work to attend job interviews with pride or daycare or tuition costs to complete an educational program. Some endangered youth also need help getting to a safe place to address issues that arise when they have aged out of the child welfare system.

As we wrap up the year, we still need your help to support – please donate before December 31st to support the Gamechangers Campaign and you will receive a year end tax receipt.
