Providing homes and hope to people in our community who need it most.
Options BC is realizing a dream, a dream of providing homes and hope to people in our community who need it most. The residential portion of our build is called Habitat@81st.
The ground and second floors will host several community services provided by Options. This allows us to expand accessibility to our services not only to the tenants but to the community as well.
As of November 2023, these units will be occupied by tenants, including women fleeing violence, refugees, aging demographics, at-risk youth, and others facing barriers in finding decent and affordable housing.
Making a Homecoming Happen or Our Community
In 2020, Options Community Services embarked on a journey to plan, fund, and build Habitat@81st. This project has been a beacon of hope and a labor of love, and today, thanks to many partners, we stand on the brink of a new chapter.
Women of Options Campaign takes it a step further with the 2022 Game Changers edition. It’s not just about homes; it’s about empowering women to become catalysts for change in their communities.
Becoming a Catalyst of Change In Our Community
The Leadership at Fifth Avenue Real Estate Marketing, Michelle Des Rosiers and Jamie Squires took to their networks to do their part in becoming a catalyst for change. The Women of Options Campaign and again in the 2022 “Game Changers” Campaign, creating a ripple effect of empowerment that extends far beyond initial expectations.
A lot has been done and we need further support to complete the Habitat.
- Library shelving for our Childcare Resource and Referral program
- Cabinets for the Family Resource space to store equipment and toys
- Laptops for Healthiest Babies Possible Outreach Team to work with women in at-risk pregnancies.
- Extra paint to finalize the interior
- Additional security cameras
- Playground equipment
- Door access control changes
- And other final touches that add up
We Celebrate the Habitat@81st Official Grand Opening
After years of anticipation, and support from various community partners, BC Housing, CHMC, and municipal, provincial and federal governments.
We recently shared the exciting official opening of a supportive housing project that will provide 100 new much needed homes for the Surrey community.
Habitat@81st will also provide support services and programming led by our passionate and talented teams.
The doors are now open, and we are proud and humbled by the ongoing encouragement and support for this vital project.’

In a heartwarming feature on Surrey Now Leader, the Women of Options Campaign and its 2022 Game Changers edition take center stage. Showcasing the transformative impact on the lives of Surrey residents.
The featured success story, “I Am the Happiest Mother on Earth,” chronicles the journey of a Surrey woman who has found joy in her new, affordable home. A direct result of the Women of Options Campaign.
