We hear so much about the housing market being flat or that it’s a buyer’s market yet recent statistics show that local BC home sales are actually continuing on an upward trend. Information came out in mid-June from the BC Real Estate Association full of data to support just that.
Comparing June 2012 to June 2013 throughout BC, the actual number of residential sales were up 5.6% and the dollar volume of the same had an 11.9% increase with the average MLS price in BC up 6% to $533,219. Compared to May 2013, June sales climbed 6.7% making June the fourth consecutive month of increased sales activity! Check out the full report here.
As the economy improves we anticipate the housing market will continue to improve as well. Recent economic data certainly seems to be indicating an acceleration of growth for the last half of 2013, straight into 2014.
What do you think? Have you noticed all of the sold stickers going up in your neighbourhood?
