Our team at Fifth Avenue values how culturally diverse Metro Vancouver is. We are also impressed by the courage it takes to uproot one’s family from their home regardless of the circumstances, and set about creating a new home in Canada.
Speaking of cultural diversity, the Chinese Community is one of the strongest and continually growing influences in our area. This is more obvious in areas such as Vancouver, Richmond, and Burnaby, and is also emerging in more suburban areas. We have observed a growing trend of interest and activity from consumers who, regardless of residency, are members of what we respectfully call the Chinese Community. This is seen each and every day in neighborhoods such as Surrey City Centre, North Delta, South Surrey/White Rock and the Township of Langley. Like many others in Metro Vancouver, the Chinese Community is attracted to schools, recreational opportunities and the affordability of multifamily housing options.
As you may or may not know, many in the Chinese Community embrace established and somewhat local traditions and pastimes – such as Christmas, the Canucks, etc. They also follow the traditions of their origins. For instance, on January 28, 2017 the Chinese New Year will be celebrated. This year is characterized as the Year of the Fire Rooster. This coming year is believed to be one in which enthusiasm and energy are infused into business and personal activities, increasing hope for better prospects for everyone. Sounds good to me!
